1. What this covers
This policy explains what information Unreal Engineering (Ryan Vimba dba Unreal Engineering, Houston, Texas) collects through its store-operations software and this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. It covers shop owners who subscribe, the staff who use the app, and the customers whose details a shop keeps in it.
2. What we collect
- Account information: the shop's name, the owner's name and email, and a billing contact. Card details go to Stripe; we never see the card number.
- Staff information: names, roles, email addresses and mobile phone numbers that a shop enters so its staff can sign in, see their schedule and receive work alerts.
- Operating data: schedules, tasks, inventory counts, menu items, orders from the point of sale, and messages sent through the app.
- Customer information: details a shop keeps about its own customers (name, phone, visits, loyalty) and their consent to receive texts.
- Technical information: sign-in records and basic logs needed to run and secure the service.
3. Text messages to staff
The app sends text messages to a shop's staff about their work: a task that needs doing, the last hour of a shift, a printer out of paper, a reply from a manager. Staff receive these only after the shop has added their mobile number and told them the app will text them. Message frequency varies with the shop's activity. Message and data rates may apply. Anyone can stop these texts by replying STOP, and get help by replying HELP, or by asking their manager to remove their number. We do not sell or share staff phone numbers with anyone else; they are used only to deliver these messages.
4. Text messages to customers
A shop may text its own customers who have opted in. The shop is responsible for that consent. Customers can reply STOP at any time to opt out and HELP for help.
5. How we use information
To run the service, to bill for it, to support the people using it, and to keep it secure. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
6. Who we share it with
Service providers who help run the service and only for that purpose: Amazon Web Services (hosting), Square (point of sale data, at the shop's direction), Stripe (billing) and Twilio (text message delivery). Mobile information, including phone numbers and opt-in status, is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
7. Keeping and deleting it
We keep information while a shop subscribes and for up to 30 days afterwards, then delete it, except what the law requires us to keep (such as billing records). A shop can ask for a copy or for deletion of its data at any time.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people who need it, and sign-ins use the shop's own accounts. No system is perfectly secure; tell us at once if you think something is wrong.
9. Your choices
Staff and customers can stop texts by replying STOP. Shop owners can edit or remove any person's details in the app. Anyone can email us with a question or a request about their information.
10. Changes and contact
We'll post changes here and email subscribers about material ones. Questions: hello@unrealengineering.co, Houston, Texas.
